Going for French citizenship

I'm applying for French citizenship! Of course, I won't give up my U.S. citizenship -- as if I'd want to, now that we have a new President! So if I get it, I'll be a "dual."
I think I've got a good chance. Since my grandmother was a French citizen, that helps. It helps that my mother was born in Paris, that my father fought with the Allies during World War II, that I belong to L'Alliance Française, that I'm going to study at Le Cordon Bleu and that I have French relatives with whom I've kept in touch. Oh, and that I speak French, bien sur!
With citizenship, I'll be able to work while I'm in France without a big hassle. And that should help financially. I could "string" for a publication, teach qi gong, work in a restaurant, clean toilets -- who cares! Well, maybe not the toilets....

  1. Bon chance, mon cherie (I know I screwed that up, but then I don't know the French language).

And welcome to the world of blogging. It really provides some handy tools for communication. I just wish this one wasn't limited to Google users...I don't check gmail very often.

Maybe I'll come over and see you, if that would be OK.

  2. Uh, yeah, Ron, best to stick to English, especially since you're such an expert in THAT language!
